Park Takeover was established by families living in the city of San Diego. Our families would meet in local parks for our children to play during their free time. After multiple meetups, the numbers of families grew and we chose to name ourselves Park Takeover. We then began to establish opportunities for youth and their families by organizing events that encourage play, education and the exploration of the arts.
